Database Utilities is a small utility tool that is included with your RealTime Installation - It is designed to address database corruption errors that are common for MSAccess database files

When using, I recommend a 4 prong process, Repair and Compact on the System Files first, then Repair and Compact on the Database files

Warning!

 - If possible, use this utility on the computer that is hosting the data.

 - In No Case should this utility be used over a WAN connection - the potential for permanent corruption and data loss is very high

Step 1) Have all users of the Timekeeper, Communications and PCTimeClock close the applications.  Close any other utilities that might have a connection to the database.

Step 2) Backup the Company3.mdb file (located in the Data Root folder)

Step 3) Backup your Client Database file (Name matches the "Terminal / Clock Name" field and location matches the "Directory" field in your Company Setup screen)

Step 4) Start "Database Utilities"

System Files

Step 5) Leave the "Include System Files" box checked

Step 6) Click "Repair"

(Compact will become unavailable while it runs)

Step 7) Click "Compact"
(Repair will become unavailable while it runs)

Note: If you had Error 3343 on start up of this tool, close and reopen the tool and perform steps 5 through 7 again

Client Database Files

Step 8) Uncheck the option to "Include System Files"

Step 9) Click the Company Name in the "Select Databases to Include..." list

Step 10) Click "Repair"

Step 11) Click "Compact"
(Repair will become unavailable while it runs)

All done - Close the utility and test that the issues have been resolved

 - If there are any errors other than 3343 on initial start up, do not proceed and contact Sundial Technical Support -
