To configure your Accruals...
- Log in to Timekeeper Administration (https://realtime.sundialtime.com)
- Click [Setup] then [Accrual Plans]
- Select the desired Accrual Plan to modify and click "Edit", or, if creating a new Plan, click "Add"
In the Plan, specify the plan Name and specify the Plan Year starting point. The Plan Year starting point is only used for those Accrual Rule Sets that use "Start of Year" for the anniversary type
You will need to add a Rule Set for each type of Hours you wish to accrue (e.g. Sick, Personal, Vacation)
Now, within the Rule Set, add as many rules as needed. The system will automatically select the correct Rule based on the employees' length of employment
When calculating accruals, the system will automatically use the rule with the longest qualification length.
Eligible After
Specify a numeric value and choose between "Days", "Months" or "Years"
The rule is in effect when this number of (Days | Months | Years) have elapsed since the employee hire date
Amount
Specify a numeric value for Hours to accrue (decimal values are fine) and select the interval to accrue the specified amount
Interval
Select the correct interval (Unit) to calculate the accrual
For Year intervals, when the Anniversary Type is Start of Year, the amount is accrued on the First of the Year as specified in the Plan Year setting.
When the Anniversary Type is Hire Date, the amount is calculated on the anniversary of the employees' Hire Date
For Month intervals, the amount is calculated on the first of each Month.
For Day intervals, the amount is calculated for each calendar day
For Worked Day intervals, the amount is calculated for each calendar day in which the employee has Punch activity (Hours Records do not qualify toward Worked Days)
For Worked Hour intervals, the amount is calculated for each hour worked. Partial Hours Worked will calculate the equivalent partial accrual amount (1/4 hour worked calculates 1/4 of the Accrual Amount)
For Pay Period intervals, the amount is calculated on the first day of each period.
(Changing Pay Periods and using a "Pay Period" interval is going to have the same affect as modifying the accrual plan. Essentially, it will take the beginning balance (As Of date) and accrue at the beginning of each period that has occurred since then. I.E - Switching from Monthly ("as of" being up to 2 months old) to a weekly period can have up to 9 periods showing "accrued" since the Beginning Balance date.)
For Weekly intervals, the amount is calculated on the day of week you choose.
Max per Year
Specify the maximum amount to accrue in a 1 year span. The 1 year span is either the Plan Year or the Employment Year, depending on the Anniversary Type setting
Max Rollover
The amount entered here is the maximum amount of time to allow to remain in the accrual bank when rolling into a new year. Amounts not allowed to Roll Over generate a Payout Record on the final day of the accrual year
