Summit Export format is a CSV structure with the following elements:

  • Client Number
  • Employee Number
  • Social Security Number
  • Clock Number
  • Regular Hours
  • Overtime Hours
  • Other Hours
  • Code for Other Hours
  • Other Earnings
  • Code for Other Earnings
  • Job Cost1
  • Job Cost2
  • Job Cost3
  • Job Cost4

Employee Identification:

Summit requires that either the Employee Number or the Social Security Number be included in the data.  Sundial has set the Employee Number to be a required field.

Using Social Security Number instead of Employee Number:

If you are going to use the Social Security Number, you can set the required field Employee Number to "Text" and leave the corresponding text field empty.  Now specify the appropriate source for the employee's Social Security Number.

Properties:

Overtime Source:

Use this field to choose between OT1 or OT2 as the source for the Overtime Hours column.  Choosing OT1 (default) will cause Worked OT1 Hours to be applied to the column and Worked OT2 hours will be applied to the Other Hours column and the appropriate OT2 Code applied to the Code for Other Hours column.  Likewise, selecting OT2 will apply OT2 hours to the Overtime Hours column and OT1 hours and Codewill be applied to the Other Hours columns

Missing Paycodes:

Select Skip to prevent RealTime from exporting hours that do not have a Paycode entered.  Select "Keep" to cause RealTime to include the hours in the export even if the Paycode is missing.  Worked Regular Hours are whichever type of Worked hours that is set for the Overtime Hours column will be included whether or not a paycode is set.

Process as Worked:

Up to 3 of the available Monetary types can be configured to Process as Worked.  This flag is used by the Summit Software to correctly process these amounts.

Include Client ID:

Select Yes (default) to include the column and value (when configured) as the first column of the export file.  Selecting No will prevent the column from being created, even if you have applied a value or source for the data.

Include SSN:

Select Yes to include the column and value immediately following the EmployeeId column.  Selecting No will prevent the column from being created, even if you have applied a value or source for the data.

Include ClockNumber:

Select Yes to include the column and value immediately following the SSN column.  Selecting No will prevent the column from being created, even if you have applied a value or source for the data.

Include EmployeeName:

Select Yes to include the column and value immediately following the ClockNumber column.  Selecting No will prevent the column from being created, even if you have applied a value or source for the data.

Division:

Enter a Division Code if desired.  This code is only used with Submitted data.

Submission Address:

Enter the Destination for Submitting data directly to your Payroll Provider.  Submissions are sent in JSON format.

Special Considerations for Differential:

Differential Amounts are sent as Other Hours records and their associated Paycode to Code for Other Hours.  The source of Differential Export Codes can come from the Differential Export code field here, or from the differential rule itself.  Export Codes from the Differential rule will override the Differential Paycode entered in the configuration.

2019.02.01

We have modified the Summit export to allow for an "Other Hours Designator" and two Designated Pay Codes (Reg and OT)

To use this, edit the Export Definition (HTML Only) and select Properties. At the bottom, select the Tracking Item that indicates the need for Designated Pay Codes.  Also specify the codes you wish to use for Regular and Overtime hours types.  A designator item and at least one code is required for it to work.

When exporting, any employee assigned to the Designator Item will have their hours removed from the "Regular" and "Overtime" columns and applied to the Other Hours column with a corresponding Designated Pay Code.

If one of the Designated Pay Codes are left blank, hours for that type will not be moved to the Other Hours Column.

The Other Hours Designator looks at all tracking level items so you can use any level for the designator.
