Target Device

This Document is targeted specifically to the new model Facial Recognition clock that began shipping early / mid year 2017.  These will have a thin (1/8 inch) band between the touchscreen on the top and the infrared lighting array on the bottom.

NOTE:

The models with a 1 inch band between the touchscreen and infrared lighting array that also contain F1 ~ F6 capacitive touch buttons are the predecessor model and are NOT covered by this document.

Work Code Selection

Like the predecessor model, this clock can request a "WorkCode" to be selected by the employee and included with their punch.  As with other models, this is an All or Nothing setting that is not managed by FKey configurations

Job Code Selection

Unlike the predecessor model, this clock can also request any of up the 6 Job Code values.  You can configure up the 6 Job Code Groups in the clock device and each group can have it's own list of possible items to choose from.  None, Any or All of these job code groups can be configured on a Key by Key basis.  This means that some Function Keys can request one or more selections while other Function Keys can skip them.

Monetary Entry

The clock can also request Monetary amounts, but since that it not currently supported by the RealTime software, this document will not address that aspect.

Preparation

To set up custom Function Keys, you should first determine

Key Label Names (the text of the button on screen)

Key Values (the value associated with the key)

Key Tracking Choices (if any specific key will also collect Job Tracking data)

NOTE:

** This document will assume that you have already Enabled and Configured needed JobCodeGroups.  If you have not yet configured your Job Codes, please see this document for guidance https://sundialtimesystems.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/1000276882

Configuring FKeys

  1. Begin by access the menu and navigating to "Personalize" >> "Shortcut Key Mappings"
    • There is a list of possible FKeys (F1 ~ F6)

  8. Exit the edit by pressing the "Navigate Back" arrow in the upper left.
  9. Repeat Steps 2 ~ 8 for additional keys
