Sundial Clock Installation

Installing a Sundial Clock is very simple.  The clocks are already configured to connect to the RealTime Server and usually only need connected to the LAN and powered on.

Cabling:

The clocks are shipped with a Power Adapter and an Ethernet Cable included.  You can use these included components or provide your own.

The Power Adapter cord is approximately 1.5m (5' 0") in length.  You will want to place your clock in close proximity to a power outlet or provide your own power source (12vDC, 1.5amp, Barrel Connector 5.5mm x 2.1mm)

The Ethernet Cable is 1.75m (5' 10") in length.  You will want to place your clock in close proximity to an Ethernet port or provide your own Ethernet Cable

Mounting:

The clocks are shipped with  a wall mount plate.  Fasten the mounting plate to the wall where you want the clock to be.  Place the clock on the top of the mounting plate, rotate downward toward the wall and fasten with a small screw (provided) in the bottom.

Connection to the Internet:

The clocks are configured to use DHCP to connect with your Network and they expect to access the internet from your Network.  They are outbound only, so you do not need to allow any special inbound access through your firewall.  Connections are established using standard HTTP protocols on Port 80.

Special Circumstances:

WiFi Clock

If you are using a WiFi clock, you will setup your Ethernet Connection through the menu and can avoid connecting the Ethernet Cable.  Using the clock menu. access Comm then Wireless.  Select the SSID and provide the appropriate password.

No DHCP

If you do not use DHCP services on your LAN, and/or wish to assign a Fixed IP Address you can do so.  Using the clock menu, access Comm then Network.  Disable DHCP and manually set your desired IP Address, Network Mask, and Gateway IP Address.  Reboot the clock after making and saving these changes

Proxy Server

If you need to use a Proxy Server for Internet Access you can do so.  Using the clock menu, access Comm, then Web Server.  Enable Proxy Server and provide the IP Address of your Proxy Server.  Reboot the clock after making and saving these changes.

NOTE: Reboot can usually be accomplished by pressing and holding the power button.  On Touchscreen clocks, it's located on the left side while facing the clock.  On Keypad based clocks, it's the lower left button of the keypad.
